Project Concepts
- Establish a leading facility in mining the Environment (Biosphere) for novel enzymes and biomolecules of industrial biotechnological relevance
- Green growth through innovative use of natural resources
- Exploitation of extremophilic microbes with very distinctive metabolisms allowing them to survive in different extreme environments
- Capitalise on major competitive advantage of Bangor University in this field
- Filling a key gap in the existing Welsh R&D capacity, adding a critical new component to the existing successful network of collaborating Welsh centres
