My research background is in biochemistry, microbiology, and biotechnology.
My main research interest is the application of bio-analytical techniques to study physiological changes of biological systems in response to environmental stress.
I have been working on the “wet side of systems biology,” applying fermentation technology (chemostat and turbidostat cultivations) to proteomics and transcriptomics of filamentous fungi and yeast, at the University of Manchester for over 16 years before moving to the beautiful Isle of Anglesey.
I count myself lucky for the opportunity to have been working in multidisciplinary environments on highly diverse projects for my entire research career.
I now work part-time as a research officer in the CEB MS lab at Bangor University, and I hope to continue to work across the borders of biotechnology and bio-analytical chemistry to help build and support successful research projects.
I have recently been appointed CCT champion for the CEB, and I will do my best to help and create a sustainable environment for future generations.
